Ingredients
- 1 pack Silver Fern Farms Premium Ground Beef
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 red onions, peeled, sliced into thin rounds
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 4 Hamburger buns
- 5oz Roquefort cheese, sliced
- 4 large rounds of beefsteak tomato
- 1.5oz Arugula leaves
- 8 slices of pickle
- Whole egg mayonnaise
- Accompany with fries, ketchup and extra pickles (optional)
Method
Remove Silver Fern Farms Premium Ground Beef from the packaging. Add a teaspoon of salt and shape into 4 burgers.
Heat a frying pan with 1 tablespoon of oil on a low heat. Add sliced onions and season with salt. Fry the onions for 10 minutes until tender. Add brown sugar and continue to stir for 5 minutes until caramelized.
Heat a frying pan or BBQ plate to medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Cook the beef burgers for 3 minutes on one side then turn and cook a further 3-4 minutes. Remove meat from pan and leave to rest covered in foil for 3 minutes.
Wipe the pan out and return to the heat. Toast the bun, cut side down until golden. Remove from heat.
Start with the bottom bun, spoon on caramelized onion, top with beef burgers, then slices Roquefort cheese, tomato and Arugula leaves. Finish with pickle, mayonnaise and burger bun lid.
Accompanied with fries, ketchup and extra pickles.
