At Silver Fern Farms, we think of “grass-fed” as a jumping off point. In addition to eating an all-grass diet, our cattle roam sweeping pastures, bask in New Zealand’s abundant rays of sunshine, and live a life free from stress.

The Cut

Rib-eye steaks are cut from the prime rib, but with the bone removed. They’re known for over-the-top tenderness and rich flavor.

Cooking time

6-8
mins / medium-rare

Best cooking methods: pan-frying or grilling


Remove from packaging, cover, and bring to room temperature.


Rub oil over the steak and season.


Preheat the fry-pan or BBQ to medium-high. Pan-fry for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium rare.


Transfer to a plate, cover, and rest for 4 minutes.
